As the main sponsor of the Spazio Cinematografo of Ente dello Spettacolo at the Excelsior Hotel, the jewelry brand designed and produced the prestigious “Robert Bresson Award”, which this year was received by director Mario Martone.
Lanfranco Beleggia, founder and President of the Bros Manifatture Group – Pianegonda’s parent company, attended the ceremony to introduce the prestigious award to Martone: “We are beyond honoured to have played such an important role in celebrating the beauty of unconventional cinema. Pianegonda keeps supporting the worlds of cinema, design and art while promoting the creativity and innovation embedded in Italian heritage.” said Beleggia.
The Fondazione Ente dello Spettacolo and Rivista Cinematografo, in collaboration with Patrocinio del Dicastero per la Cultura e l’Educazione and the Dicastero per la Comunicazione della Santa Sede, conferred Mario Martone the award with a special ceremony held at The Excelsior Hotel – Sala Cinematografo on September 7th.
“I am deeply moved by this award and I also feel a moral obligation to dedicate it to Giovan Battista Cutolo, the young musician who was tragically killed in Naples in recent days. It is an award that raises questions,” said the director.
Martone has a unique ability to let the spectator’s imagination run free, allowing him to completely immerse himself in images made of poetry and feelings, breaking all barriers and emphasizing the importance of human connections. These are the values that Pianegonda also endorses and keeps fostering through its unconventional jewels.
